#GladtoCare Awareness Week

Our first #GladtoCare Awareness Week in 2020 was an amazing success with over 250 care homes taking part in the week-long activities and the #GladtoCare hashtag used over 25,000 times on social media in just one week!

The #GladtoCare Awareness week is dedicated to showcasing and celebrating the many ways that care workers go above and beyond to ensure residents are kept safe and stimulated everyday.

On top of sharing stories across social media, some care workers went even further to show their support for #GladtoCare Awareness Week by writing songs, creating videos, posting poems, essays and memoirs online, helping to highlight some of the amazing work that often goes unnoticed by the wider public.

We are delighted to announce that we will be celebrating again in 2021 and holding our next #GladtoCare Awareness Week from Monday 5th to Sunday 11th July 2021.

Why #GladtoCare Awareness Week?

Person Centred Software launched their #GladtoCare campaign in 2018. It was designed to boost the profile of carers, who work extremely hard with very little public recognition. The campaign’s aim was to show carers that they are appreciated and to raise their morale. For 2020, Person Centred Software wanted to create a #GladtoCare Awareness Week dedicated to celebrating those who work in the care sector, following an incredibly trying period for the industry - and invite other care providers to get involved.

Our aim with #GladtoCare Awareness Week 2021 is to continue highlighting all of the incredible work that’s been done, and continues to be done, within social care and to provide the public with support on how best to choose a care home for their loved one.
